Amp Suggestion

Ok I just purchased 2 JL Audio 12W1 12W1V2, I just want a little thumb nothing to much, I have a old Sony Xplod 600 watt 3/4 channel AMP(I know its horrible). But for now can I hooked that up to my 2 subs untill I can afford a better amp? And what amp would you recommend for them in the long run.

Are these the 4 ohm version?

A "600 watt" Sony amp will do what -- 120x2 bridged? That should work fine temporarily. As always, a good enclosure is key.

Long term - Infinity, Alpine, Pioneer, RF, Kicker all make solid, not terribly expensive mono's. I'd be looking for something in the 500-800w range at 2 ohms.

Something along the lines of the infinity 1600A.

Yes, the subs are 4 ohms, and thanks for your help, I plan on getting a new box with the new amp when I get the cash.

Box is ok. That TMA would be high on my list. The JL's a real nice amp, but they're just a little pricey for my taste. You linked the 500w rf prime twice - a little less than ideal power, and Prime is RF's lowest line.

Solid amps. Gooddeals18.com has a refurb w/1 yr warranty for $155 shipped, but some people are against refurbs.

Yea Id rather stick to new, the one I ordered should fit my needs until I can get a Good solid amp.
