Amp/Sub wiring

I have a Kicker ZX300.1 mono amp rated for 150w @ 4 ohm x1 channel or 300w @ 2ohm x1 channel. Also, I have a Memphis 15-PR10D4 sub with dual 4 ohm voice coils. I am trying to wire the sub to a 2 ohm load to use the full 300w. I fried my first amp this way or the amp was bad. Of course the people I bought it from told me that I wired it wrong but sent me a new one anyway. Can anyone explain to me the right way to do this? Please!!!

red to red black to black will make it 2ohm load

That is how I wired it the first time. It worked for about two minutes and then the amp fried! What do you think.......Bad amp or Bad wiring?

- Wire sub like this:

- Don't turn the gain on the amplifier all the way up.

- Don't turn the bass boost on the amplifier all the way up.

- Make sure you have an in-line fuse between the batt and amplifier...
