Amp Strapping - Orion D1200

I have been running an Orion D1200 at 1 ohm now for about a year with no problems. I am considering buying another and strapping them. I remember reading that they were strappable in the manual but have misplaced it, which is why I am posting.

Is strapping the two together as simple as connecting a run of 4ga between the two and grounding both amps, and then changing one to master and the other to slave?

When I connect both, and run them at a 1 ohm load, it will be 600 + 600 = 1200w RMS @ 1 ohm, not 1200w RMS at 2 ohms, correct?

i have strapped a bunch of old orion 1200d's, how i did it was this:

i dont remember the rca set up but the slave amp was set to slave, all the gains set to zero on it, and the positive speaker wire goes to master amp +, negative speaker wire goes to slave amp +, and the - from master amp hooks up with the - from the slave amp... and it would be 1200w @ 2 ohm, which gives each amp a 600w load @ 1. I believe the amp may be stable to .5 ohm if you are careful so possibly strapping them @ 1 (.5 each) would work, you may get a few hundo watts more out of them.

here is the .pdf for the manual, should help more than my splotchy memory from 6 yrs ago.
