Whenever i turn the volume on my HU up to like 25, and play it there for 1 minute, the amp goes into protection mode till i reset it, andyone know why its happening?
what if i check the ground and its all good? what could it be after that? i know its not clipping or overheating because it just happened when i had the HU at 5/35
Give us some more details of your setup..What subs? Voice Coil Configuration? What amp? What size wire for power/ground? How long playing it before it goes into protect? etc.
OK i have a hifonics bx1500d powering two 12" kicker L7's they are dual 4 ohm and the speaker wire is 12 gauge and the power/grounds are both 4 gauge, now everytime i turn it on, i just hear a popping sound and then it just stays in protect.
how'd you wire those subs... do you know how many ohms they are running at? dual voice coil 4 ohm subs can get down to .5 ohms if you do it right.. which might be a bad thing for your amplifier if it can't handle that..
you having engine noise too? i've always had engine noise when i have the big POP when i power up the system or turn the car on.
but i dont get it, sometimes it works for like 30 seconds, but when it does work and i turn the HU volume past 15 it will go into protect mode. then when i wait like 2 hours and turn it back on it works for 30 sec again but if i try it right away, all i hear is a popping sound after i turn them on and it goes into protect mode. is it something wrong with my amp?
