Amp still popping fuses..

Have you double check the gains to make sure the potentiometer didn't roll the little bit increasing the gain?

Depending on what load you have it at the amp is capable of drawing 250 amps.

160x14=thats good for 1600 at 70% efficency.

Clipping it might be 175amps at 13.5 volts.

A turn it down a tad. B try 50s. Lol

Nothing to update. All I'm being told is MAYBE I have it turned up too much. First I'm going to put a few feet of 1/0 and test the amp with the power and ground hooked up to my Taurus. When I can I'm going to send my amp into The Amp Lab. Bryan at sundown suggested to do so. Idk what else to do.

At 0db you were clipping lol. So it was the headunit?

I definitely see that, I have no idea if its the hu. I mean ik it clips at that volume, I still don't know why it is causing a problem now though. I do assume I f'd up the amp though.

Were you playing a lot of rebassed 0 db stuff?...
Normally, no. This song is the cd version of congratulations by post malone. Although, about a month before this problem, I got some Team Subsonic Lows rebassed stuff. I think that was the nail in coffin. Ig ill find out for sure when I can test my amp on another vehicle.

How would you suggest seeing if its the hu? I've seen people test for clipping from hu, honestly I dunno how to do that. That's why i set my vol max to 30/35 and everything flat

What i meant by the headunit is the gain part.
I still suggest lowering the gain a bit so u dont clip. The more you clip the more you are gonna pop fuses if the amp cant handle the load.

I mean I do plan on turning my gain down, should I try like a -7.5db or -5db test tone? I mean I still don't have a definitive answer if my amp is the issue. I mean even if I turn my gains down in the end getting what I broke fixed would be preferable if possible.

I always, irregardless of situation set ALL levels (HU included) with a regular rock CD (I like Metallica live)... then adjust to taste with each song... With DJSNT I have to cut the lows a little at the preamp... It's just how it works with my setup... My HU clips at 28 volume with rebassed and at 31 volume with regular CD's... If I leave it at 29 volume I have no issues... and use the preamp master volume for everything...

Well that depends on the music you listen to, you cant do 0db since you have rebassed music.
-5 should be a sweet spot, but then on normal music itll be sorta quiet.

And are you testing at almost full volume?

You either have to set your headunit at 0db or what ever gain you like then test from there and set at the amp.

Or vice versa as one will need to be a set value to keep the test correct.

Setting gains with music seems like a poor decision. Imo

Eh, what? I thought 0db would be preferable. No clipping possibility? When I set gains I'm at full volume hu on 0db. The DB level that are the names of the videos are the sub level on hu. My gains are set with the -10db tones.
