Amp still popping fuses..

Possibly months of abuse of clipping caused internals like caps to expand and not work as well...

Turning the gain down will stop the fuses from popping

Thought this was already mentioned?? But OP says he got the gain set properly...? Btw, welcome back.

I didnt bother reading the thread since its always the same sh1t lol.
And thanks..

But just because the gain was set a certain way for months with a bigger fuse rating on the power wire doesnt mean it was right.

Any small fuse will let a bigger burst of amperage to pass without burning the fuse link.

So months of abuse will cause things to slowly break. Only way to fix the issue is to lower the demand of current which would be the gain knob or gain on headunit

I dunno if it considered "properly". I said it was set with an oscope and -10db test tones. None of this explains why the bench tested fine though. Same gain settings. I could try setting with -7.5db tones I suppose. It's just that people set gains with -10db tones, so why is it causing me an issues if that is the issue

Id say you might have a power supply issue but untill you can see amperage and voltage on both sides of the amp its hard to say. Not to mention that the bench never poped a fuse im thinking your clippin it.
The thing is when they bench tested it, I told them not to touch the gain. To test it the way it was, so if it didn't pop then with the same gain settings why would it pop for me?

Id put 4 50s in it. Lol. I remember when id push my rd 1750s into clipping pop.. put 50s and it was HOOD
If I'm already clipping, I don't wanna wreck it.

When it was bench tested, did you use the same headunit?

Each headunit has "gains" aka sub level or other types of manufacturer gains.
Each headunit also operate on different voltage outputs.

I recognize, I'm not a complete moron. Which COULD mean that their output voltage is lower than mine, or it could mean something is wrong with my headunit. etc etc etc

If you werent a complete moron then you wouldnt have made this post as your issue is car audio basic 101 hint hint moron

I never said I knew everything I just said I'm not completely stupid, dunno why you seemed to take offense to that. If the problem is simple then what is it? Do you think it's just the overdriving of the amp? If so, for the future how can you test if you are overdriving it. Also, is this something that can be repaired?
