Amp still popping fuses..

Hey guys, I have been having this problem for a while now. My amp has 4 x 40amp fuses. When playing at full volume it will pop one of those fuses after about 5-10 seconds of bassing. It started doing this about a month ago. Before that for about a year it worked just fine, gains set the same way they were. I went through some testing (http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifiers/632813-amp-popping-fuses-tf.html) But put shortly, I have done the Big 3, got my alt load tested, and as of today bought a brand new optima redtop 34/78. I tested it after I put the new batt in and it popped the fuse at 14.0v. I had a local shop bench test my amp with my sub hooked up to it so they could run it at 1ohm full power, didn't pop a fuse. I took it home and redid all my cargo wiring, making it less ugly and redoing the connections. Tested, about 5-10 seconds in, poof no bass. I don't know what else it could be. If my amp and sub are fine together and my electrical is and was fine to run it, what has changed? It worked fine and then all of sudden this, as far as I know nothing changed.

My setup:

Kenwood x599, Flat everything except the HPF@100hz (this is done on my sax aswell it just helps)

4 Crescendo Audio Symphony 6.5 coaxs

SAX-100.4v1 @4 powering my mids/highs

1 Sundown Audio Xv2 12 /w box tuned to 29hz

SAZ-1500Dv1 @1ohm (Gains set with oscope, and -10db test tones, 30hz,40hz,50hz,60hz,70hz)

Why did you buy an Optima redtop? Those batteries are crap now and have been for awhile.
Swag points. lol jk. Honestly, people recommend them quite a bit, I seen alot of talk about them. It'll do for now. If it dies or I choose to get something "up to standard" then ill worry about it then.

And you still have yet to have your alternator and battery load tested, right?
I got my alt load tested, passed fine. The batt I had they couldn't load test. This is a brand new battery now. I have had it less than 24 hours, I literally cant imagine it having the exact same issue.

Well, it makes no sense, but could it be your head unit? Seems to be the only other variable.

What's troubling is that you really shouldn't be opening up 160A worth of fusing on that amp at all.

I suppose theoretically it could be the head unit. But does that actually explain the fuse popping? I'm out of ideas. I just wanna enjoy my system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

What "people" recommended an Optima for ya? Prob those same people that want you to buy. Everyone knows here, well except a few people, that their quality has literally gone downhill. Found a lengthly article for ya to read, when you have time... A Must Read Optima/AGM batts! - Car Audio Classifieds!

People I know. I'm not saying your wrong, I don't doubt they arn't as good as they may have been, but honestly I could care less about having an argument as to which battery is better. I want to solve my problem, that's it. I haven't had my system at 100% in a month. You got any ideas?

Nope.

Have you tried another amp see if it does the same thing?

I haven't tried another mono, no. I don't have another to test, although my mids/highs works fine, kind of. I didn't think much of it but my second amp has been doing weird stuff, not blowing fuses though. The 2nd and 4th channel will get quite/cut out completely and sometimes crackle like its a bad connection or its distorting. Everything it fine with the connections and wiring though. I don't THINK it has anything to do with whats going on with my other amp, I may be wrong though. I feel like that it likely something wrong with the amp, its intermittent, but happens a lot less when full volume. example, The right front door speaker will be silent at 15 vol, turn it up to 30 and it will kick back on somewhere in the high 20s (28-29.)

Lemme ask you a question: you constantly listen to your stereo at full tilt/full volume?
On most things yes, primarily decaf. Is that a bad thing?

At a car show in the capital, I talked to the head engineer of a battery charger company. We shot the shit for a little bit and we got on the subject of Optima.

He confirmed everything I'd heard about them. Quality is not what it used to be.

I'm not going to argue with someone who asks for advice and then doesn't take it. It's your money. You can buy whatever you want.
