Amp started clipping?

I've had this amp for about 4 months now, when i first got it i set the gains how they should and all, but just a few moments ago I noticed that the amp started to clip. I felt the amp and it couldn't have been the thermal protector shutting it off. The voltage was fine as well. Any other reasons that an amp would just shut off and have it's power light flash when the bass should hit? I tried experimenting with the volume and noticed that if i turn it down really low the amp will come back on, but only when the volume is below 10/34. So i then tried setting the gain again, and noticed that i can have the volume on 20/34 only if i have the gains down all the way. Could the 122 degree heat index have anything to do with this? Should i check the remote wire for damages or something, or is this amp in need of repair?

I checked the remote wire and it was fine, however while music was playing i touched it against the ground wire and nothing happened. So then i tested putting a wire from the 12V+wire straight to the remote turn on. I noticed that the power light on the amp stopped flickering and stayed steady, but still no sound. So after getting tired of messing with it i slammed the trunk lid down and was going around to turn off the HU when the amp came on, but only for a few seconds then it went out again. So i opened and slammed the trunk again and it came on for a few seconds. This mean somethings loose? Maybe inside the amp, it is on the trunk floor which also has 2 15's, something could have eventually vibrated loose eh? Should i crack it open and whip out my soldering gun?

Maybe it is just the heat. I just went outside to test it out again and felt the amp which hadn't been on for 3-4 hours and it felt about 190 degrees. Guess i'll wait til later tonight when it cools down to see fo sho.

lol im a jackass, i checked everything imaginable before checking one of the most important things. Turns out that my ground was very loose. Guess its a bad idea to hook up ground to a plastic turn knob screw thing, bolts>plastic.
