amp shutting off- MA Audio HK1998

It started the other day, my amp cuts off, the "protect" light comes on for 5 seconds, then it powers back on, then the protect light comes back on for 5 seconds...wash..rinse...repeat. I have a MA Audio HK1998 powering 2 Type-R's

Would it be a snag in my remote wire or could it be the amp is blown?

maybe a low voltage issue.

Is this happening with the engine off, on, or both?

Does it happen at idle, while driving, or both?

Do you have a DMM?

what ohm are you subs/???? and how do you have them wired up??? is the amp 1 ohm stable???

the amp has been hooked up at 1 ohm@1200 watts , the subs are the 4 ohm editions, I have been running this setup for over 2 years with no power problems.

As soon as i turn the car on, or even in acces., it still does it.

anyone got any ideas? remote wire getting pinched, or a blown amp.

those amps are hard to kill. check ur ground and make sure ur fuse holder is ok and battery connection is good.

Have you tried disconnecting the subs and then powering it on?
