amp settings

i have a amp that only does 500rms at 4ohm at one channel and i have it hooked up to a single mtx 10 single 4ohm rated for 200rms

i am trying to give it the right power and i put the dmm on 20volts and it wont read what am i doing wrong also

only setting i have is level bassboost and i frogot the last one its for how much treble to allow to go in your sub

so what am i doing wrong
