so I have an orion amp (Orion HP-4600), Pioneer deh-p6000ub headunit, and the PPI 365cs components which are located in my door, right between map pocket and door pull. tweeters in factory pods. anyways the amp has the gain set ALL the way up, I back it off like 3/16 of an inch cause I didnt think it was too safe or correct.

Now I can get the speakers to get loud, however on my deck I have to put the volume up to like 50 to do so, which I dont think is correct either. I believe the amp puts out 150 RMS per channel, its a 4 chan bridged to two. just curious as to any suggestions to get it to be loud in the non clipping range

also would sealing up the doors/deadening them help at all? recomended sound deadeners that would help seal it, can I use the peel n seal crap at lowes?

I dont mean obnoxiously loud, but loud enough for me on the highway to rock out a little during long drives, im not a clown who pushes the system to the max windows open thru a downtown district.

no, i have an RCA set to the sub preout and both into the sub amp, and then i have the RCA from deck speaker preout to the amp. JL audio blue RCA's its all one wire with 4 ends, two black two red yadda yadda, i made sure that the correct preouts go to the correct amp with an ohm meter to check the resistance of each lead, so im 99% sure they arent backwards.

RMS Power Rating:

4 ohms: 50 watts x 4 chan.

2 ohms: 75 watts x 4 chan.

Bridged, 4 ohms: 150 watts x 2 chan.

thats your amp

you might wanna try setting it as 2 channel as well on that button on the right

but you need all 4 inputs driven... not always but usually...

the Quart DSC amps do not because they have what is called a dupe setting the Orion does not appear to have 1..

well thats my problem, i just figured if i flipped that switch to 2 channel, i would only need to put the RCA's into channel 1 and 2, gonna try that tomorrow, as I have some spare monster Y's from my old system.......thanks so much, my car audio newbness shown thru and I never woulda figured that out on my own, will let you know how it goes tomorrow, thanks a ton

quick question, what would be some starting points to set the amp/deck at and then tweak it from there, based on my speakers, i have a Fi SSD sub driven by a memphis amp, but i blew my old cadence speakers in my old car and would like to avoid doing the same.
