amp repair

is a 13.5 volt 4 amp converter enough power to test an amp. i ask because i have a cheap sony amp and it seems to be real quiet for its rms rating in and out of the car
Only works out to 54 watts. You could test and see if the amp works, but wouldn't get much power out of it.

Edited for math fail.

you will likely only get 40 watts out of it, and many larger amps will not get enough juice for power-up, however, the sony will probably power up and idle on it just fine. you could also take some voltage measurements, etc. if you need to put it under load, and get more than 40watts rms, you can add a car battery, and it should give you a few min of good power.
