amp recom. for idq12

im looking for a good, affordable amp to power one Image Dynamics IDQ12. I haven't purchased it yet because im waiting to see what kind of amp would work best with this sub, be it the 2 ohm or 4 ohm version. thanks

I would get a sub amp.

what's your budget? personally, i would get an amp that does more than the power you need that way you can always upgrade in the future. if you have the money for it, a sundown sae1000d would be a good one. you could run the amp at 2ohm on a single dual 4ohm sub, and if you ever decide to pick up a second sub, you can just run the amp at 1ohm.

ctmike has a good point. what's your budget? if you go to the ID forum Eric had a list of amps he thought were good amps for the subs. all were available at woofersetc.com
