i'm supposed to be getting a SSL Ev4 2000 tomorrow to power two 12" rockford fosgate P3's (older model, not sure about the specifics though)... anyway i'm told by a lot of people that i should avoid the SSL Ev4 2000. What is an amp that i could get for around 200 used that can power these subs instead of having to use the dreadful SSL?

plenty of used ones in that range. depending on coils, they are plenty of solid new amps in that range as well. Aq 750.1 comes to mind

Stay away from ssl. You will thank me later. We need to know the coil configuration. It should say on the back of the magnet.

Wait till you get the subs, and then make your decision on an amp..you are getting ahead of yourself,in which most do and make mistakes getting less/or the wrong equipment for your money..be patient, and do one thing at a time,and get it right

We all can run this thread in the ground recommending amps,but not knowing the configuration of the subs??Basicly, doesnt make a whole lot of sense..yet the budget is known,and brand of subs:uhoh: Ask again once you find out,be best in my opinion

well i bought the subs and i'm buying the amp and wiring from the same guy, piece by piece... the SSL Ev4 2000 is what he ran on these P312D4's

Well theres a new start..good..Ya, you have already gotten the subs,so utilize what you have,and for your best interest...DO NOT BUY THAT AMP,unless he sells it for like $20 bucks,and put it on Craigs for $40.. You can find a great amp for those subs for your budget/better quality,and more efficient as well..Now it will be easier to recommend and get some great recommendations for your moneyNew American Bass HD2500 Class D Amp | eBay Here is one to start with maxed budget

i was thinking i can run the SSL for now so i have something to listen to, i've been staring at that sub box for the past week. and while i'm using that for the time being, i can search for a better amp. he's also selling me a capacitor.. is it even necessary? and what gauge wiring is recommended to run the subs?
