I can assure you that 50 watts X 4 will be more than you can stand, but other people on this forum may know a little better than I do. I will say that I have a little piece of shit 85 watt X 4 Power Acoustik amp running my highs and mids and it gets retarded loud, louder than I care to listen to music.

There are no decks that put out that much power.

nope your wrong:)

theres 1..

it a panisonic 9800u h/u or sumtin..it actually puts out 60x4 RMS...the most powerful one made to my knowledge...and 50x4 is max watts...the rms is usually 20 ish if that!

no that deck is 60w peak and 25w RMS (pretty sure since I do sell it)

wait thats the 9700U, upon checking out panasonics site, the 9800U does 70w peak, so thats most likely 25-30w RMS.

Crutchfield is wrong. It was tested by a mag, it was only 26w per channel (which is still a heck of a lot for a CD player). Here is what it says on Panasonics website:

"Panasonic uses digital amp technology with high-speed MOS-FET switching devices to achieve the difficult goal of fitting a 70W x 4 (max.) amp ".......now seriously, if crutchfield was correct, when was the last time you saw an amp's max rating only be 10w more than the RMS??

RMS is a different measure of a signal's amplitude, a signal's RMS can be as high as its Peak!
No, it can't! By definition RMS is 70.7% of peak output. You measure peak, multiply it by .707, and you have RMS. If RMS is 70.7% of peak, then obviously they can't be equal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But, ya'll are completely missing the point. IT HAS BEEN TESTED, IT PUTS OUT 26W/CHANNEL RMS. End of story

There is no way a HU can put out 60 watts rms. Plus All you really need is about 50 watts to your highs and mids because anything more than that would make your head asplode. Trust I know, I had buzzing in my ear for like 1 week after I tried to push my comps to their potential.

i cant wait to get my orion 100.4 then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

it should make my hed 'asplode'

good amp you got there, should do exactally what you need.
