Amp question

Im new to the whole car audio and this is probably going to sound stupid but i was wondering if i can / should have an amp for my regular speakers and then a seperate amp for my subs. if you are using your stock speakers i suggest you dont get it amp'ed. If you are getting an after market speaker you can if you want. There are also 5 channel amps that will allow you to amplify 4 speakers and use it for the sub aswell.
