i have 2 12"xplods, they r 300w rms. i want a new amp, the one now aint cutting it. so, would i need a 2 channel amp that is 600rms to give the subs the full 300, or could i buy a 300w rms mono amp and bridge the subs. if i would get a 300 rms mono amp and bridge them would the amp recognize it as one sub hooked up and still put out the 300 to both subs.

Ya need to do some reading to further clarify your knowledge. If each driver is rated at 300wrms, then 600wrms total is needed to supply both subs with the recommended power. Wether the amplifier is 1, 2, 4, 6 or x channels. The subs are not what are bridged, the amplifier channels are bridged, and that is only on amplifiers with more than one channel, assuming the amplifier is capable of being bridged.

What we need to know is what type of voice coils those particular drivers have. Are they single voice coil 4ohm models? Dual voice coil 2ohm models? That is what you need to know before you look at an amp. Check out this thread to see what options you have as to what you can wire them to. Then look for an amp that puts out 600wrms at that resistance.
