Amp protection when turned up

You may have a bad sub?Check the wiring and make sure secured, and check ground for amp,.I found my issue..I have a dist block for grounds, and found the one wire I was using for that side was loose.I cut it, and restripped it, and hooked her back up, and worked perfectly. Then took everything out to mat/deaden the cab, so new wiring will be installed with new fuses@ the AGU fused dist block also, and Agu fuse under hood,I figure time takes its toll on those fuses/get weak after a while, cheap, just change them out.:santa:Well, back to deading,Like to get my sound back in order tday(no tunes atm)

I'm gonna bet its your electrical. You haven't done the big 3, and you got 3 batteries running off your stock alternator. Low notes will cause the voltage to drop, which is where your amp goes into protect.

Get a bigger alternator. Batteries are only a temporary fix. Have you checked what your voltage is at during full tilt, and what its at when you hit the low notes?

i dont think its the sub. i got it out the box right now coils look fine. this never happened with any other amp ive had. it may be the voltage im guessing.

are u checking voltage while the amp is playing music?
yes

well i guess ill have to do the big 3 and then whats going on. i have the wire to do it just havnt had the chance to do it.

well if the stuff you have listed in your sig is what you are talking about.i dont see it being low voltage unless you have a bad alt.

what is the voltage drop when hitting 30hrtz? also you do know that is is bad on equipment to play below tuning right??

also just because your coils look fine (from what you can see) dont mean they have not scraped or over heated and are coming apart.i seen it happen to a hdc3 before when playing at low volume it was fine but when tuned up it would protect.the coils read fine and looked fine(from what you can see) but when forced up by hand you could see it coming unwound.if you are playing 30hrtz in a box tuned @37 hrtz bad things happen to subs also using 2k watts under tuning is going to heat the coil up real quick.most people think since one guy runs a certain sub way over rated rms then its ok to do so on a daily basis.well its not that is why there are ratings so you dont have thermal breakdown of the coil.

so why didnt any other amp do this. i have had Power acoustik, Planet audio, Sundown etc...

Idk. I hard to tell with music because it kinda jumps but about 12.5. And i may have found the problem. I went to move batterys back how i had the before and i pulled my ground loose with really trying. And one of the hot post were kinda loose. So i went to check & tightnd down the wire terminals. reconnected that ground and check everything else to. But ima do a big 3. Im doin box work right now my sub aint in right now
