Amp problems

So I bought a used amp a couple days ago, a rockford fosgate t1500bdcp. Hooked it up before I bought it worked fine. Now I've noticed that sometimes the amp doesn't want to power up and other times will. If my car has been off for a while the amp will power right up, but if I have been in it listening to Music shut it off and turn it on about 15 minutes later the amp won't power up. Never had a problem like this with previous amp. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks!

Not sure where your remote wire for the amp is getting its signal from, but you may check that. I had a similar problem in the past where I jumped my remote wire off the back of an accessory plug. The accessory plug ended up going bad causing an intermittent problem where my amp would lose power. I traced it back to that and moved my remote wire to a different location... Never had the issue again after that. Not saying this is your problem, but you might wanna check it anyway.

↑ I agree completely. If you're running multiple amps I'd recommend using a relay. I'd also recommend a relay given that you're having trouble with that amp, because if it does have a problem on the remote circuit, it could cause excessive current draw on the remote out and that could cause irreparable damage to your head unit.
