Amp Problems

I have a Rockford 1000.1 and it played for a few days and all of the sudden it shut off. The power light is still on but the protection light is also on. My instructions say that when that light comes on you have to remove the AP momentarily to release the PWM. I have no clue what it could be...it was fine and then just died.

If anybody can help it would be appreciated.

Thanx Jay

I feel your pain man. My Alpine just shut off too. The difference between your problem and mine is yours seems to be stuck in Protective mode. My didn't even go into protective mode. What happened when you removed the AP?

hope this helps PWM stands for pulse width modulation or switching, sliding power supply this is what kind of power supply your rockford uses,as for the AP you mentioned i would assume that means amp power.I had a rockford 800a2 and never had a problem except getting hot in 2ohms.another thing is your amp might not be getting enough amperage or volts from the alternator your amp might go into protection mode if there is low or over voltage.I think the bd 1000 uses a 100amp fuse so thats gonna draw a lot of amps.
