ive had the same amp for some time now and went to use it again with bad results //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ...... i have brand new wiring that was just put in by a local audio shop....(the guy is straight and i watched over i know its good).....so wiring aside.....i go to turn the car on and the 30amp fuses on the amp all 3 blow out. what could be causing this?? my one friend says bench test it?? any one have any problems like this?? the guy at the shop says amps act like this when someone hooks them up backwards, and they r pretty much toast...

ive done some searching and found a little info.....im in atlanta so is there anywhere near by that someone knows of that can test it/look at it/ or even possibly rebuild it???....any help is much appreciated!!

well if u know the guy that did the wiring did it right u should of done it. if u says the amp is no good cuz it was wired up wrong then it could b his fault. did u wire up the amp or did the guy do it? if your blowin fuses some times thats cuz your pullin to much power and your alt can put it out and u blow some fuses.

i watched them wire it but no i didnt actually touch anything.....i let them do it cause it just bought this car and if they brake something doing it,they fix it...not me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.... but the wiring is good.....its exactly how i would have done it.

ive never ran into that kinda problem in the past and have had this amp/sub setup in 5 different vehicles...but how could i test this?

What kind of fuse you have by battery and what all you have done big 3 or yellow top altenater anything or stock you said a new car witch should power it fine cause its new

If the fuse in the amplifier is blowing, The problem is almost certainly IN THE AMPLIFIER. If the fuse is blowing as soon as power is applied to the amplifier (with no power applied to the remote turn-on terminal), The amplifer likely has power supply problems. Generally this means that the power supply FETs are shorted or the reverse protection diode is shorted. The FETs in the switching power supply generally fail when the amplifier is connected to an ohm load thats too low. The reverse protection diode is generally damaged when the amplifier is connected with reverse polarity (positive/negative connected backwards)........................................If the amplifiers fuse blows AFTER the remote terminal has power applied, its likely that the amplifier has shorted output transistors. The amplifier could also have problems like a shorted winding on the transformer or shorted rectifiers. If the fuse only blows after the amplifier is switched on AND the volume is turned up,there could be a problem with the speakers or the speaker wiring. The reason the amplifier doesnt blow fuses when the volume is all the way down is because there is no voltage on the outputs and therefore no current through the short circuit.

That is wrong, if you have a poor electrical and you have poor voltage all the time that is when the power supply fets will fail and it may even take out the power supply transformer. When you have your amp wired below it's lowest recommended impedance load the output section of the amp will fail before the power supply will. Also when the power supply fets fail it could also take out the output section of the amp.

Is is also not completely correct. If the output section has failed most of the time the amp will power up and have no output voltage or it will go in to protect. If you are blowing fuses on the amp when you apply the remote voltage it's most likely the power supply section of the amp.

It is very unlikely to have shorted out rectifier diodes.
