Amp only playing low frequencies

So I have 2 kenwood 6x9s that i was powering with a lanzar 2 channel amp. However i switched it to power my 2 subs instead. Now after switching it back to the 6x9s. It's only playing low bass sounds. Like everything's only coming from the woofer. First I thought it was the speakers. But I plugged them in to the rear deck powered by the stock amp. And worked fine. Ive messed with the amps settings but nothing has helpped. Any suggestions sould be wonderful ! Thanks

if the amp has a LPF you need to turn it off. make sure there's no switches on that are preventing it from playing high frequencies. the HPF should be set at 80-120hz depending on preference.

take pictures of the settings on the amp and indicate where the knobs are set if there's no arrow and it'll make it a lot easier for us if you're unfamiliar with filters

if your amp has sub only RCA's that's another reason why and you need to verify the headunit is giving you full range from 80hz and up without filtering out anything

That's what I was thinking. But there's no switch. It's just a little dial. And no matter where I turn it. It sounds roughly the same. It's just weird that less than a month ago. It was powering them fine. And it's not like it's not powering them at all. The bass is hitting fine. But the voices are very quite. And muffled.

have you changed anything with the headunit or RCA's going into the amp?

No. I have my RCA's from my HU going to the back of my monoblock amp. And that piggie backed to the 2 channel. Just like how it was. Is there anything you can think of that I can try.

+1, set it to highpass and just barely turn the knob maybe 1/10th of the way clockwise

it might be because I'm sick but shouldnt your HP knob be set to 3K or am I getting it backwards?
only time you'll set a highpass at 3k is for active tweeters

Oddly enough. Still nothing. The woofer continues to work. And barely any high frequencies coming out. Could the amp somehow be broke ? I mean. It's obviously cheap. But could it have just broken the HIgh pass part of it ?

its very unlikely, very very unlikely for that type of failure to occur imho.

i think you have an issue with your signal coming into the amp filtering out high frequencies, do you have two sets of rca's coming from your headunit? if so swap the other set in and see if it changes anything.

your headunit or LOC, line driver, whatever you're using needs to be checked - i think thats where your problem is.

Update:

My HU got changed to low frequencies believe it or not. So now I have it set to through. But that now also means my subs are playing on through. What should I have that amp set at to cancel out the high frequencies

looks like i called it huh? lol

sub amp should be set with the Subsonic filter (HPF) at 20-30hz and LPF at 80-100hz.

if your headunit can set the rear or subw rca's to low freq only set it that way and still set the amp as i just said

make sure you have the proper RCAs into the proper amp. front rcas into mids/highs amp and sub/rear rca's into the sub amp
