Amp Not Accepting Power

Finally got to hook up my new subs and what not today, and the amp wont take power. I tested volts all the way down to power cable, and it was steady the whole way. Once the cable is plugged in the amp, it stops reading any voltage at all. The ground and remote wires are fine, even tried the remote to the power. RCAs are tight, subs werent plugged in.

Its a Planet Audio P2250D. The fuse is a 300 amp Kicker, and using all 1/0awg kicker wire. Fuze is in tight, and there is 14v+ before and after it.

Any ideas? Maybe the terminal on the amp came loose on the inside?

I dont. Had my other one hooked up, removed it and the RE SE, sold them with the 2awg wire, put in the new wire, new amp, and new subs. Got the amp off BumpinKota, and met in person and it was working then. Sat in the car for a couple days till the box was done for the subs, and not its not doing anything.

Ill see if I can borrow one.

Well if you have a Car Audio shop or a Car toy's near you take the amp into them they can power test it on their bench for a small fee.

Amp terminals do not just come loose with out being abused in some way.

Can alway's take the bottom off and look for yourself.

I opened it up, nothing seems to be loose, burnt, or wrong from what I can tell. Uploading some pics right now.

The terminal on my power wire was too big to fit on the battery terminal, so I bought an L shape bracket with holes in it, and bolted that to the battery terminal and the power wire terminal to it. It gets the same voltage all the way through, so I dont think it matters, but its the only thing different I did from before.

So you have used a meter and checked +12 at batt on both sides of the fuse and the terminal at the amp? what are you using as the meter ground at the amp to do your test.
I checked the possitive post on the battery, the terminal to the power wire, the wire before the fuse, the bolts at each end of the fuse, the wire after the fuze, and the wire right at the amp terminal. Used the ground wire and the piece of metal I have it going to for ground when checking at the amp. When the wire is in the amp it shows 0v, when it is pulled out it its about 14.

One thing I just realised is the L shape bracket I put on the battery bolt was giving me a service engine soon light. Once it took that off it went away. I can't figure a way to bolt the wire on though without it, the terminal ring is too big.

Also, I was reading the manual for the amp and it says to use a 16awg wire for the remote, I think the one I have is 20awg. Doesn't seem to me like it should matter, but ill change it anyway to see.

have you tried bypassing the fuse at the battery? like i said earlier i've seen where a fuse is bad but won't show being bad or even look bad till you put a load on it. putting a load means connecting it to the amp.

leave it connected to the amp then check the wire from front to back again.

I checked the wire with the power on and connected to the amp at all above locations again. Same thing.

Pictures are in another thread, ill post when I'm not on my phone.

so when connected to the amp at the battery terminal there is no power?
No, battery still has all power, the wire still has power untill I test at the spot where it goes in the amp or the terminal on the amp itself.

Also, the service engine soon light came back on on my way home, so it wasnt from the bracket thing. Ill worry about that later.
