amp noise

ok every time i turn my car on my sub works well for aprox. 20 secs then starts going nuts and it happens even when i turn my stereo off and doesnt stop til i turn the car off...my ground seems to be good...someone know whats goin on?

ya its wired right i had it in my car then put it in my gfs car it worked fine in my car..actually got pretty loud...i put it in her car turned it on and it worked great then about 10 or 20 secs later it just starts thumpin like crazy...i turned the radio off and it still does it..im lost

Leave the car running. While the amp is going crazy, disconnect your RCA's off the amp and see if the noise goes away.

sounds like bad RCA inputs on the amp. Try jiggling them, does it affect the noise? Does it go pop?

no it doesnt make any noise but u can hear the car running thru the sub and when u turn it up its fine but when i turn the head unit down it starts going crazy

Do a search on Alternator Whine.. and Ground Loop

should find abit of info that might help you troubleshoot the issue.

that sounds like a symptom of ground loop called motorboating. I would check to see if the car has "floating ground" If so a ground loop isolator would probably fix the problem.
