amp mounting

I do not recommend mounting any amp to the sub boxes,as over time it loosens the internals of the amplifier, later having the amplifier in need of repair???Yet,you can mount the amp to the box.I recommend looking for another location,//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/boink.gif.91933e72f927f2cefc79aff02573090c.gif

I think amp manufacturers anticipate their equipment will be mounted to sub boxes and design/build them accordingly. The only problem I've had with mounting to a sub box was when I forgot to tighten some unused speaker terminal screws on the amp. I was surprised at how loud those little screws could "buzz" when vibrating.

i was thinking the same, that big 15 makes crazy vibrations, justwant tomake sure. some will say, that at $110, it wouldn't be a great loss. think i'll go ahead and mount it. thanx guy for thenuseful input and not some oftheneg stuff you get sometimes.

Well, good luck, and hope it works for you..sound like that 15 is going to sound pretty decent. Well,it make be over time for the amp internals to break/loosen up, but may be repairable and ..and or you can replace.Every amp I have ever seen mounted on a sub box always had issues.Always.,but?? Its only money..Lol!!

it does, still breaking it in. i have it in an 08 caliber r/t, when it loosens up it should be great, rated at 800rms, it likes those 600 very much. might upgrade to 1000 on down the road, but satisfied for now.

I have mounted my amps to my boxes for 15 years now.

Only once has an amp stopped working which was a JL 500/1 that I have heard does not like to be mounted to the box.

I wouldn't worry about it.

actually, it's the ones with the cooling fans that can be mounted virtually anywhere in most cases. i never recomend box mount, though i have done it before, and it happens all the time without problem. biggest problematic amps are ones that have poorly secured parts and/or large flex planes. i've seen allot of buzzing torroids, broken transistor legs, dry connections on caps, but many amps also factor these problems out in the design. i have not actually seen inside the new mbquarts, so i cannot say how duranle it will be, but all i can suggest is to choose a spot that is the most rigid on the box, like near the edge, or a known brace, rather than center-plane.
