amp LEDs

The amp should completely shut down when you shut your car and stereo off including any led lights.

Did you do a proper remote on connection from the HU or did you try to use a switched ignition source?.

I have seen on one occasion where the internal relay on an amp stuck in the on position and the amp could run without a remote line hooked up to it, the defective amp was replaced under warranty.

I have a pioneer gm-5100t and it has a blue LED on the top of it. I noticed that after i installed it and tested it and turn off my car the LED was still on. Is the LED supposed to stay on? or is there a wiring problem.
Does the LED stay on constantly or stays on temporarily and slowly fades to off? Some amplifiers' status LEDs don't immediately shut off when the amp shuts off but rather slowly fade to off as the internal capacitors slowly discharge.

If it is just staying on, however, either you've connected the remote turn-on input to a constantly-hot circuit or there is something wrong internally with the amp.
