Amp keeps cutting out sub after turning up volume.

Ok so I just redid some wireing, currently I have 1200 watt skar audio 12 inch 8 OEM dual coil and a boss audio 1200.2 armor addition amp. Everytime I turn my volume up so high my amp turns into protected mode and cuts out. I don't understand this bc I had a dual 1200 4 channel and it hit harder then my boss audio amp. So I have a couple of questions. How do I keep it from cutting out the amp and how do I keep it hitting hard. Still new to audio.

Sounds like your DVC sub needs to be wired in series to lower ohms to 4. better if you had a 4 ohm DVC sub. Wired in series makes it 2 ohm and more power.
