Ok, I am totally and comletely stumped! My amp is going into protection mode way to fast.. I am running a Diamond D3600.1 Amp, 15" DVC 4 ohm sub,

LOC to front speakers of stock HU of my 06 VW Passat W/ no Dynaudio.. I have the dual 4 ohm sub hooked up to produce 2 ohms out.. The amp is stable at 1 ohm. The amps sensitivity is only rated up to 3V.. I have the gain on the amp turned all of the way down, the bass of the HU is all the way down and the LOC is barely turned up... Everytime the bass hits at mid volume whether the amp is hot or cold, it goes into protection mode.. I believe that the LOC might be producing to many volts for the amp to handle? How can I correct this problem so my amp wont go into protection mode? Thank you for any input.

What gauge power wire is installed? Should be at least 4 awg I would think.

You might want to double check all connections including speaker and ground.
