amp is really frustrating me

heres my problem :

my kicker ZX 750.1 shuts off and and resets then immediately turns back on. i have noticed that this problem doesn't occur at high volumes, it occurs with hard hitting bass notes. so it will do it when the volume ranges from 6-20 (out of 40) my gain is currently set about half, and bass boost at 3/4

here is my setup :

brand new kicker ZX 750.1

1 month old kicker ZX 650.4

2 farad sound quest capacitor

a couple month old kicker solobaric L7 dual 4ohm wired to 2ohms

pioneer door speakers

and a combination of 3 different 4gauge wires ( Monster, Kicker, and Fosgate )

ps. i ran all the same setup before with a ZX550.2 instead of the 750.1. I had the gain and bass boost backed off just a hair, and there was no problem

EDIT: this can occur 2 seconds after turning the amp on, it doesnt require a period of time

Your amp is trying to tell you someting, bro.

Lose the cap, turn the bas boost off. Get a voltmeter and watch it.

Caps do more harm than good. There are about, oh, I dunno... a million threads on it.

a power distributor seperates one power capble into 2 or more power cables.

it is possible that the amp needs repairs, but its fresh outta the factory.

and i will check my ground

Well, I think the "more harm" thing for these guys is a false sense of security. But I CAN tell you that in testing, my supercaps (2700 farads each) + batts is worse than batts only. That's the extreme though because our batts are busy recharging several banks of (6) of those caps. At the very least, like you said, it's no help at all. Even with (12) 2700 farad supercaps per amp. So, I can't imagine his 2F cap is doing a **** thing. Lol.

and i just checked my ohms. the L7 is wired to 1.8ohms

I always thought of a capacitor as shifting the point of the bottleneck in the electrical chain when used as an energy storage device. Now, they do have one use as I have typed many times before and that is to filter power line noise out of the system.

Begin boring story: I had issues in my 1996 Thunderbird that came from the factory with a HO alternator. The only problem was that HO alternator and the old school amps I was running at the time, 1997 to 1999, picked up the power wire induced noise. Several local shops tried various things, like ground loop isolators, grounding the shield on the RCAs to my Mobile ES HU, along with various other gadgets/tricks to solve my noise issue to no avail. All they did was cost me money and my system just ended up sounding weird and still having the noise. I called a buddy of mine who was in the service in California, he ran my issue by a shop that he had been working with in his spare time, and they told him to tell me to try a cap. Their reasoning was because Ford's alternators were known to bleed out higher than average AC ripple, even when new. Well, the cap solved my noise problem and that is about the only time I ever found a cap useful.

Grab voltage meter. Check your batt voltage at the amp no capacitor. Check your RCA voltage and make sure they are grounding out. Lastly check your remote connection.

the power shows 12.7

and ground reads .1ohm

and what do i check about the remote? it working, because both amps do turn on, and will stay on as long as im not playing loud/ heavy bass music

wire the sub lower and see if it still does it...(sorry i mean higher) not at 2

i bet that stops your issue. something not right with the amp im sure

in response to the last 2 posts... the amp is 2ohm stable. i dont think i need to change it to 4. then i wont be getting all the power i want.

and its a new amp, i dont think i should have to adjust myself to the amp. i should be able to adjust the amp to my preferences with no problem

BB off. Sounds like voltage is dropping to low "during these heavy bass notes" thus making amp go into protect. Messing with fire bro..... One day that amps not gonna come back out of protect....
