Amp is cutting out(again)

Do you have a Digital MultiMeter?

If so, I would recommend checking the ohm load your sending you amp with the DMM. It sounds like your running it below the rated impedance, which could fry your amp.

Also, it could just be overheating.

ok i think it is overheating beacause its under a piece of wood over the amp to make the back of my truck level so i am going to mount it up on my box and see if that helps

could be the problem stated above........... but have you checked your voltage at the amp? on my 06 civic with stock batt/ stock alt, i had a similar problem with a kicker kx1200.1. It kept cutting in and out when turned up ( gain was set correctly ) at the amp my voltage was dropping close to 10 volts. i threw a yellow top in and it solved the problem (stock batt was a piece of shit) so id check the votage going in to the amp while playing a bass heavy song at full tilt...........

This is a very good suggestion. But I'm sure he would have said something about dimming lights / dashboard / etc, but I dont know. This does sound very probable though, it's just normally a lot of other things are noticeable when your voltage dips that low.

i found the problem cuz i got new speakers today it was one of the speakers was blow or something and the wire would gground when it would hit hard so its fixed.

ok i only know the basics of messin with a cars system so talk to me like im retarded haha....so i got a 1000w kenwood amp and its pushing 2 12" which are bridged....and my problem is when im listening to my shit my amp will cut out on me now i tightened my ground made sure the paint is off of it and my lights do dim when my bass hits and im clueless on how to keep my amp on.

its kenwood kac-81030 1000w (max power) 300w [ rms x 1 at 4 ohms and 1% thd + N] d mono i think....now i think that this amp has a protection thing on it but not sure and if it does could that be the problem?
