alright well i have had the amp hooked up for about a week its a cadence TXA-750D and its powering 2 12" atomic Energy EN12D the d4 so i have a 1ohm load until today i didnt really turn it up for very long just short burst ... anyway the bass cut out so i stopped opened the trunk and the little red light is on the amp i was assuming it was in thermal protect casue it was a very hot day and the amp felt pretty hot .. so i got home and its been off for a couple hours and just tried it again and the red light is still on .. it powers up fine and i can hear the fan on the inside running and the subs sound like a heart beat just a light thump thump thump not to the music or anything .. anyways i was wandering what could be the problem i know its in protection i have checked and rechecked all connections and wiring ... please help

edit i should mention i bought this as a pair from member here and i left all the setting how he had them since he set them with a dmm ..

its really aggravating me... so what would cause this .. i mean you cant have an effect without a cause .. it wasnt user error cause if thats the case it would have broke when the other guy had it also ..

i don't know about your amp, but i had a old phoenix gold amp that did that. i unhooked it from power and let it sit for about 30 minutes. it reset itself and played fine after that. come to find out i had a bad coil on one of my subs.

The amp got too hot?

i also did test the coils on the subs and all 4 read within .1 of 4ohm and combined the two wires going into the amp read 1.3 ohms .. i have it unhooked from the battery now .. i also tried without the rcas hooked up did the same thing ... and also tried without the subs hooked up still the same thing

it wasnt scorching my cd player gets hotter than the amp was .. it has a fan on the inside and a big *** heat sink on the front .. .. it was only pushing 600w also ... i just do nt understand if the person i got it from didnt have the same problem why do i same subs same amp hooked up the same same levels .. everything

any other help will be greatly appreciated ..i mean did i pay for an amp that i could only use for 5 days ...... well really only one day today was the first time i played it longer than 5 minutes .. before it was only played for like half a song and still wasnt turned up very loud
