Amp Help Please Ahhhh

I just hooked up my amp and it's making the sub go "THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP" like 8 times a second and not stopping until I turn off the cd player. It does this regardless of whether the RCAs are plugged in and only does it when the cd player is on. sounds like a ground problem... check the gains and make sure it has a good clean ground also it may help to turn the gains down a little, check the ohm load while your at it.

this wouldn't happen to be an MTX amp BTW would it?

OK... just checked the ground and it is perfect. Remote is putting out a constant 11.52 volts when on. It still does this even if the RCAs arent plugged in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anyone have any ideas? I need to see if there is anyrhing I can do because my exchange period expires saturday.

i think you drove your amp into protection.. check if the protection light isn't lit on it

It's not. I've tried about everything. I've hooked up 2 Alpine amps and an Audiobahn amp for my friends without any problems and now when I finally get something for myself it doesn't work. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'm tired of messing with it. I'm just going to exchange it. The only bad part is that I'm going to have to wait another 10+ days for a new one to get to me in the mail. Arrggh.

11.52 volts...your battery is running at about 20% power at that voltage just so you know.

The car wasn't on. If I remember correctly, It was putting out around 13.6 volts @ idle. So, would it be best to exhange it?

i would exchange it...it mite be defective..who knows...its just 10 days..
