Amp Help - Not Powering On

I was driving around, everything was fine, then my sub suddenly stopped working. I got home and opened the trunk to find my amp. wasn't powering up. I have the Infinity 611a and it's powering a type-r, wired for a 2-ohm load. I have checked all connections at the amp and behind the dash--everything is fine. The ground is good, sanded away all paint and is on bare metal. No fuses are blown.

I have a digital multimeter but I'm not sure on how to use it to check for power/etc, and I guess this would be the final troubleshooting step since everything else is fine.

check your remote wire.

double check your fuses, on amp and under the hood. sometimes they look good but arent. also double check your remote wire

Set your DMM to 20V DC and then put the ground lead somewhere on bare metal and put the positive lead on the power cable end. Should show voltage if you have voltage there. If no voltage then you need to recheck your fuse. If there is voltage, do the same thing with the remote wire. No voltage, check for a lose connection, if there is voltage, then try to ground your amp at a different location and see if it comes on then.

yep..i bet you have an AGU fuse...i had one on my Diamond Audio D6 1500.1 and i was driving down the road and all of a sudden it shut off. did all the routine checks like you....come to find out that the AGU fuse holder had a manufactering defect...some plastic was not allowing it to seal tight and the fuse was good. the wire was a little melted at the fuse holder...so i replaced theo holder and everything was good. you could have a cheap AGU fuse that if defective, could be a major current starver and not letting your amp power up due to undercurrent. use your DMM at the amp and right at the back of the fuse.....
