amp grounding

I have a question about grounding the amp to the rear battery!!! My rear battery is about 4 feet away from my amp, im wondering if it is still ok to ground to the rear wire battery even though the ground is that long? I already have the ground and power ran to the rear battery, im wondering if its ok to ground my amp if the ground wire is that long thanks!!!

If the amp and the battery are physically separated by 4' then 4' is the min length of the ground regardless of whether you ground the amp to the chassis or to the battery. Personnally I'd rather have that distance covered by a low resistance piece of copper rather than a section of copper, followed by a section of the chassis of an unknown resistance an length, an then another section of copper.

Go straight to the battery, that's the best place. Making 3 connections between is worse than a little extra length.

With no breaks in the connection, it would be better just to go directly to the battery. The more breaks in the connection, the more resistance is put on the electrical current flowing through the wire. AMP2BATTERY
