amp going into protection mode

I have 2 boss 12" 1400 watt each Subs powered by a boss 1600 watt amp to my stock system. I've tried to bridge it and every time I do it goes into protection mode. If not bridged works fine. I want to get a little more power. Can anyone tell me why is going into protection mode. FYI checked and rechecked all wires and moved ground to best possible place

Not sure what amp you have, but 2 channel amps like that are usually only stable to 4 ohms bridged. If you put the subs in parallel, the amp would be seeing 2 ohms before impedance rise. This would cause it to go into protect.

Either wire them in series or one per channel
