Hello I'm the newb trying to install this thing. I tried turning the gain down and nothing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
The main ground wire went to the sub amp and a second ground wire was taped to the first one to power the 2 channel amp. I told him to take the main piece of ground wire an put it in the 2 channel amp and it still went into protect. So I told him to connect a speaker to his sub amp and put it in high pass and there was sound. I think the amp is done anyone have any other ideas. I am fresh out.
I'm just confused as to how the amp would fry after working perfectly before this install, and after the installation the amp was just fried for some odd reason.
I have no idea where this install went wrong, but I can say 100% it is simply wired wrong somewhere. I would disconnect the speakers and RCAs from the amps and see if the still go into protect mode. Chances are that sometime during your install you let an RCA touch a ground when it was still attached to the amp in the back. When that happened, you blew your amp.
Got the amp, wired it up, SPEAKERS WORK! What the **** like 2 days trying to figure this shit out and the amp was messed up. At least it works now, thanks everyone for your input!!
Ugh. Now my speakers are making a weird siren like noise occasionally. It is EXTREMELY LOUD! It seemed to happen a couple of times when I pushed against the inside of the door? Anyone?
