So I have a kicked 300watt mono and running a Rockford fosgate p3sd4-10" sub. I have the dual voice coils ran in parallel so they should be at 2ohms which is what the amp says it is rated at.
With my truck running I can turn the volume on both my head unit and phone (via bluetooth) to about 3/4 each but past that my amp is thrown into protection mode until I bring the volume back down. It is a very hard line, and by that I mean that through trial and error I figured out exactly where it cuts off and where I can keep it at +/- 0 notches.
Changing the gain and bass boost seem to have no effect on where the amp cuts out, I keep them kinda high to compensate for kinda low volume but even when I turn them down it it cuts out at the same spot and it just doesn't have enough kick for me.
The weirdest thing is that when the truck is turned off, the protection mode trips at a slightly lower volume (from 32/40 to 28/40). I've checked all of the wiring, none of the wires have shorted or are contacting each other.
I'm not sure if it may be the amp(bought it refurbished from Amazon), the HU, or what. But any advice would help a lot
