amp goes into protect plz help

i just got my tsunami db1100 back from repair after i blew it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

it worked for about a week then one morning when i turned on my car, pop. so i went and had a look and it had gone into protect. i checked all the fuses there fine. when i take the power out the light goes out, if i put it back in, it comes on. if i take out the ground and put the power in, once i try to put the ground back in, it goes back into protect. i checked all my wires, they all read 12.68v. im really stumped plz help.

A. Check your subs impedence.

B. Check your resistance to ground.

C. If a and b check fine, the amp is most likely friend again.

The above could work I would give it a try. Try turning the gain down and see if it still goes into protect. Turn off the car so you reset the amp first though. However that poping sound might mean the amp is fried again. I usually don't run my gain past a 1/4. If you run you gains too high the amp gets clipped which in turn isn't good for the amp or speakers.

Sounds like whoever repaired the amp didn't finish troubleshooting it completely.

Find out what exactly they repaired. Sometimes the PWM chip and the driver chip also need to be replace. One bad resistor or driver can destroy all of the new transistors. Another thing, If the power supply transistors failed, the tech should have replaced all of them. If one FET failed in the audio section, the FET that was in parallel with it MUST be replaced also. Failure to do so will result in an amplifier that will be unreliable.
