Amp Give Stock Unit more power

What's up guys, new to the forum and had a question for you all.Would hooking a amp up to my stock headunit give the sound system more power and the overall system and door speakers sound better?Just a small Kenwood that's putting out 200 watts max.Would I hook it up just like hooking a amp and subs up?Also I have a sub and seperate amp that I'm hooking up to,would hooking the amp also make the subwoofers sound better even if its already hooked up to a amp?would appreciate you all knowledge and opinions.

Thanks

If there stock speakers then I predict you blowing all of them! Stock systems are matched pretty well to get the most from what they are(which isn't much)the second you push them with any amp really there gone.

I've been running a sundown 100.4 bridged on my stock fronts for over a year. They get loud as f#ck.
I installed my highs amp (at the time an eclipse 3640), and all the speaker wiring, before I even had any comps to put in. I punished the everloving crap outta my stock fronts... tried to blow them and couldn't. mid 2000's stock gm speakers, especially the tweeters, can take a beatdown. And get louder than i thought they ever could. My brother took the tweets and replaced his blown alpines with them, lol...

GO ahead OP, just set your high pass crossover so there's no distortion.

They are infinity components in a chrysler concorde. I'm surprised they lasted too. I should say that I set the gain 4 clicks lower on the h/u when setting the mids and highs then the bass amps, so they aren't taking all the amp has to offer.

wow I was just thinking back about 15yrs ago my moms new lebaron gtc turbo had the all infinity system and they went quick off 100rms, but in there defense I was like 16-17 so theres a chance I didn't set it up properly.

So you guys are saying if I do hook it up to power my stock unit everything should b alright?should I hook it up directly to the speakers or is it ok to hook it up to the headunit?

yea by wiring the stock hu speaker wires into the speaker level inputs then hooking the speakers to the amp they will see the amps power not the HU's power that will be converted into a signal to drive the amp.

If my amp has that I'll be able to just use the amp to give the stock unit more power?
An amp doesn't give the stock unit more power... You gotta disconnect the speakers from the HU and wire them to the amp. You feed the amp's inputs with the head unit's speaker outputs.
