So I have a Hifonics hfi1000.1D, which does 1000rms at 1 ohm.

My sub is a Alpine 1223d DVC rated at 600rms. I have it wired to 1 ohm.

I'll be using a dmm to set the gain. My question is, what rms do I go off of?

The amps 1000 or the subs 600? As of now I have the gain voltage at 24.5v. (600rms)

Is it safe to go to the 1000 rms(31.6)
