Amp fryed

I tried hooking up a 10" pioneer sub to a 300 watt amp. It worked about 5 mins then the sub stopped. I checked out the amp and noticed smoke coming out of it. Any ideas why this happened? I'm not willing to shell out some more cash yet.

yeah im just trying to figure out why it worked for a lil bit then stopped incorrect wiring? bad amp? or maybe too much power?

yeah def save ur money to get better then sony, also, if ur hookn stuff up urself and u dont know a safe ohm load and ur runnin sony and visonik u prolly shouldnt be hookn ur own stuff up

clipping the amp i'm guessing.. or terrible electrical..

there are a lot of factors... maybe a roach... some cases bugs **** it up

nominal impedance...resistant there are differant kinds like 1,2,4,8 ohm and dual 1,2,4 ohm and so on and so on
