im using a sony XM-1002HX amp. i cant believe i did it,but i picked up 2 speaker wires (the same wire pos and neg) and they hit eachother while power was on and the amps over current light came on and the fuse blew. i put a new fuse in, turned on my deck, and the fuse blew again before anything lit up on my amp.. is my amp fried?

Unfortunately I would say that is exactly what happened. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Well, not friend as in not fixable but certainly damaged.

I sold a Kenwood KAC-927 to a buddy and he did the exact same thing. The amp has never worked correctly (well, at all) since. It will power on then immediately go into protect mode.

hmm.. best bet to repair it? its a oldschool one with only like.. 240watts or something low like that.. or shuld i just go spend 250 or something on a 500watt one i shuld be able to get rite? iuno..
