amp frequencies

on my amp i can change the frequencies but i have no idea what i should be setting them to? is there a set rule or what?

It depends on what kind of speakers you are trying to play and where they are installed.

Is this for subs or mids/tweets?

ok sorry i should of been more specific, they are for subs and they are located in the boot of a hatchback car.

Around 80 hz lowpass is a good starting point. You can adjust a little from there if need be.

ok the low pass filter goes between 50Hz - 250Hz the high pass does 80Hz - 1.2KHz

so do i just make a calculated guess as to when i think i have adjusted it to the correct frequencies? and what should the high pass be set at?

The super bass option goes between 0 - 12db i have it set on 6db.

for subs, you use LPF ONLY.

Set it to 80hz as suggested, you will need to set a subsonic filter too!

If you do not have one, i hope you are using a sealed box because if you are not, your sub is a lot more likely to get damaged.

If you do have this filter, you must set it just a couple hz below tuning for safety reasons.

Turn your bass boost all the way down to 0db. This will induce clipping.

the amp has options of LPF, FULL or HPF currently it is set on full, is that the correct setting?

No, set it to LPF, and then adjust the frequency to 80 hz
