amp for solo x

Erm... There's not a lot that will give you RMS power to that sub for $800. I'm going to assume you only want SPL and don't care about SQ (otherwise, you'd have gotten a different sub). I'd say go for an Earthquake D2 or D3 and upgrade your alternator. That still won't give you 5kw, but it'll be about the most you can get for the money. If you had more to spend, I'd say try to get a pair of Orion XTRPro2400's for that sub and then crank it. But you'd need two good high output alternators for that, as well as an additional battery (preferably more than one).

Btw, what kind of car is this going into?

Only $800..? Your going to spend a lot more then that upgrading your electrical.. If it were me, I would hit up eBay and try for some Cheap Orions that come around.. There have been a couple time when I have seen some for under $500 a piece.. ..What car is it going into..?

That's some sick power right there... What's the cost in US dollars for one of those things?
well, prices aren't really given, but as they say:

"if you have to ask, you can't afford it"

I am looking to buy an amp that will work for the solo x for around $800. I was wondering what people recomend
What coil configuration did you get? Dual 1ohm coils or dual 2ohm coils?

If it's dual 2 ... you could strap a pair of Tsunami 1100d's on each coil ... so about 2200+ RMS @ 2ohms/coil. That would cost about $1040.

If it's dual 2 ... you could throw a Tsunami 1800T on each coil ... so 1800+ RMS @ 2ohms/coil. $750.

If it's dual 1 ... you could throw an Orion 2500D on each coil for a mere $1500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Be sure to budget in at least $500 worth of electrical upgrades ... battery(ies), alternator(s).

what if the speakers dual at 1.5 ohm each coil?

what if the speakers dual at 1.5 ohm each coil?
One sub with DVC 1.5ohm coils could wire to .75ohm, or 3ohm.

If wiring the coils together isnt an option (because of price of amps for tons of power @ .75 or 3ohm), then get two amps that are 1ohm stable ... but remember, it will put out a little less power at 1.5 ohm.

i'm new at using 2 amps on one speaker. Is it damaging to the speaker? what about the gains how do i have them at the same level. is the option on minimal or max gain to keep it even?
