Amp for PG and My sub.

I am about to get some pg rsds and originally had decided on a cadence 3002 amp to push 150x2 @4 to each component. But now I am thinking about possibly getting a cadence 6004 and running 600 x 1 to my sub and 150 x 2 to my components. Currently i have a cheap crunch 1k amp that does 450 at 4 to my kicker sub. The main reason i would like to do this is Possibly not having to buy new power wire and a distribution block, since i could probably use my 8 gauge to the 6004 and not have to buy 4 then split it to 8 to two amps.

So my choices are either this:

+ cheap crunch amp that does 450x1 at 4.

or

Will i even be able to do that?

1) Do 4 channel amps have two gain settings etc, i haven used one yet.

2) Also in general for sound would i be better off just running two amps even though one is cheaper?

3) And lastly would i even be able to power the 6004 on 8 gauge wire.

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes, they have two gain settings.

2. Not necessarily. having one amp is easy to install since you need 1 power wire, no distro block etc. But it's up to you, whatever you prefer. Those Cadence amps are big, too.

3. I would use 4 gauge wire for that amplifier.

I think you are better off if you can do it with one amp... one less amp/"black box", less wiring, one less thing that can break. Plus, I believe the cadence amp has 18db xovers... that might help keep the bass up front = better sound quality.
