Amp for OZ audio me

Im planning to get a OZ audio matrix elite. its 700rms and 1400 max...so i would like to know what amp to get for this...i would like the price to be around 250 to 300...around that...some recommended hifonics but i heard their overrated..so help me out

just one...it doesn't matter if its 2 or 4 ohm..as long as it matches right with the amp

True, the dual 2 ohm COULD be wired to 1 ohm, so 1 ohm stable monoblocks come into play. It just weeds out SOME amps. You going for an SQ install??

parallel

connect the positive from the amp to both + binding posts and the negative from the amp to both - posts.

The sub manual there on the oz site has diagrams for ya!

I'd want and amp that'd give good clean power with 350x2@2ohms RMS or AT LEAST 700x1@1ohm. There are A LOT of good choices for those specs. Here's where opinions REALLY vary, on what is a good amp. Size, cost, type, appearance?

is orion better than hifonics...cuz i was looking at the hifonics bx1205...it can do 1200watt and 1-ohm..but i know thats overrated...is that orion overrated or underrated?

In the postings I've read the Orion seems to be better than Hifonics. You should do a little searching though and come to your own conclusions. I've never used either personally. Of the postings I've read, the Orion would typically be underrated, some of the hifonics overrated. I'm sure this will get flamed by someone. The true test would be able to actually hear them in an A/B comparison in a shop somewhere, since you have a little while before assembling your system. Heck, if you get them from somewhere you can return them, buy two, try 'em both out, send the loser home. I did it with my avionixx vs RF.

alrite...in one of the local stores..they were selling a jl e1400d for 500 canadian..and a jl w3 for 299 canadian..what do u think of that? cuz that was my first choice for a new setup

im thinking bout the orion 600d...and get a 2-ohm sub

if i got the orion 8002 or 6002 i would hvae to get a 4-ohm

i'd put the 8002 with 1 channel per voice coil on the dual 2ohm sub. 2x400@2ohm which is just over your 700/2 =350 rms. RMS is a rating that the sub can take full power all day long. Going slightly higher won't kill ya, little headroom is a good thing. I did just see it was a little over your budget though. Just don't buy some 400 watt amp for a 700watt sub. Just remember, you can ALWAYS turn down the gains on the amp!

i got my modded mtx 1501d for 320 used on this forum's classifieds. its powering my dual 2-ohm idMAX in series (4 ohms). it puts out 700+ watts at 4 ohms and at least 1500 watts at 1 ohm. im not selling mine though just a suggestion on what to keep your eye out for. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
