amp for ID CTX65CS's

no i mean somthing about 250x2 that way you have a lil headroom to play with. if you read the different reviews on that set of speakers most that have them feed them with a lil more power then rated at. as long as you keep the signal clean and don't go crazy with the knobs you'll be fine.

edit i should have said 200 wattsx2 as said by Eric over at the iD forum "2 x 150 to 200 watts and give you plenty of power to have some fun."

could you guys recommend some? what else do you look for in an amp besides rms to each channel..?

and would it be better to go with a 4channel amp bridged? or 2channel?

I say just go with a 2 channel and just browse the classifieds you'll find good deals there.

I would maybe consider something like this Hifonics TXi-6008

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6272

Titan series 600-Watt A/B-class 2-channel amplifier

# 1/2-Channel operation

# 600-Watts RMS x 1-ch @ 4-Ohm

# 300-Watts RMS x 2-ch @ 2-Ohm

# 150-Watts RMS x 2-ch @ 4-Ohm

Acouple bucks over budget, but those three letters RMS are important. On at least the Crunch you listed it is listed as peak, which could be three times or even more of what you would actually see.

Ive seen the Hifonics Brutus (BXi monos) listed as a good budget amp so I assume this would be comparable.

x2

there was a dude selling a mb quart 4100 on the classified here. That's what i'm running bridged and they take it without complain.

Don't "go easy on knob", set it with a dmm at a specific level on the headunit and never go past that point so you won't be clipping ever

BTW they do take 300 watt no problems for few minutes. Never had the chance to push them for longer since my hear ringz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
