Amp for 12" type R

Honestly i don't think its safe to use 80a fuses with a 75a amp idk though because i have never tried it anyone who has tried it who has blasted there music know if you can do it? And i want my sub to hit harder not, not as hard. Will freq make the lows hit better or not as good?

and if i under stand correct 500 watts out of 1500 watts is very low 1500-500=1000 so lacking 1000 watts my sub could have?
Lol, basically, the max wattage, in your case "1500 watts" never matters. Never look at that number, it means nothing. Now your "500 watts" RMS is the power you need to look at. RMS is what the sub can handle daily, the MAX is more less just a number a company throws out to make their product look good. Like Sony Xplods I think say like 1200 watts MAX, which is ridiculous, they'd shit if you gave them 1200 watts. Same thing with amps, only look at their RMS output.

To sum things up, only look at RMS, never MAX.

some of those mtx amps are rated at 12v...the 250/500 rating is likely at that. When it says 750 at 14v or whatever, it is likely around 750rms at 2ohm...And 750rms should pound the hell out of a R..

Dude, who is this guy?

RMS= Root Mean Square. It is a term to define the average power in wattage that a sub can handle, i.e. daily. If you give a sub rated at 500 watts rms but 1500 watts max you will probably blow that sub. (In the case of an alpine type r it can actually handle a lot more than 500 watts rms, but that is what the manufacturer recomends) The max rating is what the sub can handle on a burp, or in other words, every once in a great while, maybe when a song has a note or two that requires that much power.

Do a little research on car audio terms. And if people give you answers that you don't understand either look up the terms you don't understand or ask them to clarify.

On a side note, I really wish people would do just a little research before they put a stereo in their car. I studied for hours and hours before I made any decisions on equipment. You know, so I could understand what I was doing. geez.

Hey I Don't mean to be a dick, but if he needs a custom enclosure, then why are you pointing him to prefabs? I agree that he needs a custom enclosure, but the prefabs aren't going to help him much (then again they might make a difference from what he is using now, Not knowing what his specs are).

Personally, I think mclerico83 tries to market shit for people he know or something, every thread I look at that he's commented he says the exact same thing over and over and just gives a shit ton of links to stuff that the OP never actually goes with.

Personally I think I would rather build my own. I can't say those are bad because I have never used them, but I can't say I find it worth it to spend $120 for a box that I can build for less than $50. But hey, that's just me.
