Amp Doa?

ok got in an amp today from a member on this forum. Took it to my car. Put in 4ga to neg, 4ga to pos, and 10ga to remote. Rca to input, left the subs unhooked as i havent adjusted the gains yet. gains all the way left. turn on the power, turn on the car remote and amp is in protect mode right off the bat. 4 ga is runing a solid 14.58v and remote is 13.6v all 3 fuses are good, no signs of burns on the inputs, any ideas?
