amp dies

i bought a kicker kx1200.1 to run my 12" kicker l7 at 1 ohm about 2 months ago and now all the sudden it is starting to just die. the sub is in a sealed box and if i turn the sub up to much it wil clip really loud and then after a while the sub like turns on and off the amp finally dies. i looked at the amp to see if it was still on and it wasnt. does anyone know what is going on with my amp. the gain is only at half and it just starting doing this since it became cold outside. it was doing this about a month ago so i pulled the battery connection off and put it back on and it worked fine until now. also, i just have the remote wire hooked up to the fuse panel in my car. is is giving the remote enough power? thanks

i didnt think kx amps were 1ohm stable, ah i see only the 1200.1 is

could it be the sub? i had a hifonics bx1500 and it would do the same thing. i had that amp running at 1 ohm also but i wired it at 4 ohms and it did the same thing. the sub is a renewed dual 2 ohm i think.

I know I had a similar problem with my 15" L7, but my amp wasnt cutting off... My sub was cutting in and out right when it got cold here.. I thought it was the wiring, but it turned out to be a broken voice coil tinsel lead..

also what size of power wire should i be using and what size of wire should i use from the amp to the sub?

big power, 4 gauge to amp, 12-16 to speaker

i dont think it is the amp because my old amp did the same thing. i think it is either the wiring or the sub because i got a new amp and it still does it. and i dont think my amp is under warranty.
